A cartooning after-school program in Greenwich has published the eigth compilation of students’ artwork, entitled “The Greenwich Cartooning Chronicles.” The publication was distributed to all Greenwich Libraries and public schools in February 2013, and features cartoon drawings from over 100 Greenwich students who participated in this year's cartooning afters program.  This issue features new comic strips and character drawings from contributing artists, ranging in age from 7 to 17 years old.

The 8th issue of “The Greenwich Cartooning Chronicles” is drawn by students from 15 schools and organizations, including Central Middle School, Cos Cob School, Eastern Middle School, Glenville School, Greenwich Dept. of Parks & Rec., Greenwich High School, Greenwich Catholic School, International School at Dundee, Julian Curtiss School, North Street School, Old Greenwich/Riverside Community Center, Parkway School, Riverside School, Western Middle School, and Whitby School.

Our program is designed to help the artists share ideas and translate their imagination into comic art.  By teaching students how to organize their thoughts, write succinct dialogue, and build a compelling story of humorous fiction, we give them a chance to practice communication techniques in a fun way.  The Cartooning Clinic is also great opportunity for these young artists to see the artwork of other students.
